As a leading public research university with five strong campuses, we share NACAC’s belief that access, opportunity and student success are strengthened when dedicated professionals come together to learn from and challenge one another to build what’s next. We understand that the future of higher education isn’t built by institutions alone; it’s built by the educational professionals like you who help students navigate uncertainty and possibility every day.
The UMN Journey
The University of Minnesota was founded on the belief that education creates opportunity. As Minnesota’s flagship public university, we have long partnered with counselors, educators, community organizations, and families to help students navigate the path to higher education. We share a commitment to expanding access, supporting student success, and ensuring learners can pursue their goals. Today, that mission remains central to everything we do.

Advice for NACAC Attendees
Students are looking beyond education for a place where they can grow, belong, and get experience that will bolster their future. As counselors, your support helps students see possibilities they may not yet see for themselves. The challenges facing higher education are real, but so is the creativity, resilience and commitment of the professionals working on behalf of students every day. Keep sharing ideas, building partnerships and making space for both innovation and belonging.
