The National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC) is a nonprofit professional association dedicated to empowering college admission counseling professionals through education, advocacy, and community. As part of this mission, NACAC is committed to supporting local counselors in the cities where we host our annual conference.
NACAC Conference 2026 will take place in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and we are proud to support local public school counselors and community‑based organization professionals by offering complimentary conference registration through the Local Counselor Conference Experience program.
Program Eligibility
The Local Counselor Conference Experience is open to college admission counseling professionals who work at:
- A public high school
- A public charter school
- A community‑based organization
Eligible professionals must work within the Minneapolis–St. Paul Metropolitan Area, as defined by the U.S. Office of Management and Budget, which includes the following seven counties:
- Anoka
- Carver
- Dakota
- Hennepin
- Ramsey
- Scott
- Washington
Up to two approved professionals per high school or organization may attend NACAC Conference 2026 through complimentary Local Counselor Conference Experience registration.
Nomination and Approval Process
A nomination form will be distributed to school district superintendents, high school principals, counseling coordinators, and other local leaders to confirm eligibility and approval for attendance.
All nominations will be carefully reviewed by NACAC staff to ensure candidates meet the program’s eligibility requirements. Approved professionals will receive instructions on how to register for the Local Counselor Conference Experience once conference registration opens.
